Easy to use, top tier customer service!

The level of service our team gets from Kangaroo is out of this world. From setup to ongoing support, they've answered our questions with patience and ease. [sensitive content hidden] has been of the top examples of best customer service I've seen across all of our vendors.

Contras:

Nothing yet! Some features were "wishlist" and they've already delivered on some and are looking into implementing others.

Switched to Kangaroo From Fivestars

Comentarios: We work with [sensitive content hidden] and he has been great about helping us whenever we can't figure something out or helping us find solutions when we encounter a limitation or need a workaround.

Puntos a favor:

We switched from Fivestars as we are expanding to e-commerce and needed a provider that could work with us due to being in a regulated industry. We like that we can do targeted marketing based on behaviors , recent purchases, visits interests, tiers, etc. These metrics are important to understand your customers. Kangaroo customer service has been great about finding a solution when we encounter limitations within our industry or software integrations. There is an integration with Klaviyo as well, so that is nice to have. We got this software because it integrates with Lightspeed POS as well.

Contras:

I hope the developers can allow us to manually export our own customers lists via a filter/csv download in the future instead of the user needing to rely on Kangaroo each time. I would recommend Kangaroo using an unlimited email system, up to 10,000 emails or a similar system and build that into their contract instead of the credit system, as emails don't cost the same as SMS texts. Most providers are using the credit system and this would set them apart.

Razones para elegir Kangaroo: Fivestars is very basic and suitable for beginners, but not for companies who are looking to grow. There are no metrics for behaviors other than basic redemptions, there is no ability to target groups of people based on behaviors/purchases, no white labeling. Fivestars uses their brand to promote their business, so that means it encourages customers to go anywhere that takes Fivestars, including your competitors if they also have Fivestars. If a customer unsubscribes from one Fivestar business, it will also opt them out of yours too. Customers don't recognize your brand when they get some of the notifications, so they will tune you out over time. Fivestars SMS and email program is very basic and limited.

Comentarios: My overall experience with Kangaroo has been great.

Kangaroo was the only solution that we found to integrate our POS (Lightspeed Retail) with our E-Commerce store (Shopify). It was relatively easy to set up and their team is super responsive whenever there are any issues.

Contras:

I wish there was better reporting capabilities, but i see that the kangaroo team keeps adding more reports and features which is great. Additionally i wish that some of the options for setting up promotions were a bit easier to navigate (i.e. selecting promotions by brand instead of just product and category) but overall i am able to achieve what i need to do on this program.

FiveStars to Kangaroo Transition

Comentarios: The transition to Kangaroo has been a learning process, but overall I am satisfied with the product. The redemption is streamlined and the marketing will be manageable once it is setup. The setup was more cumbersome than I had planned on, but that comes with any transition.

Puntos a favor:

The overall transition has gone smoother than I expected. I like that the program integrates with Shopify POS. The staff feels it is easier to use and there are fewer steps than FiveStars. Customer support has been available and checked in multiple times to ensure the transition was working. Our customers like that they don't have to enter their information. It's easier for them.

Contras:

The customer list transferred into Kangaroo, but not into Shopify, which leads to the risk of duplicate customers or no names attached to customers. The auto marketing campaign does not have wording setup and the offer expiration is not able to convert to the actual dates it expired.

Comentarios: The learning curve hasn't been too difficult and where my managers or associates had questions, support was happy to arrange a demonstration/training. Our customers and employees are excited to have the program.

Feature requests for future updates: Individual account login by retail location (Admin and Manager level permissions). CSV customer export. Ability to use customer-facing tablet for program signup as well as POS checkout. Sorting options in Customer Dashboard.

Loyalty Program with Kangaroo

Comentarios: It was an added value for customer retention efforts and building a streamlined customer data base that you can access anytime.

The fact that Kangaroo provides an actual customized application for the end user to download and use is great. The support team is very helpful and responsive.

Contras:

The admin dashboard is a bit confusing but like everything you can get used to it after a while of using it, but the support team is always available to guide you along the way.

Customer support, amazing! Regular check-ins from [sensitive content hidden] making sure everything is going well, and then every time I find a new feature he takes his time and runs through the complete process, very hands on and makes learning the app a breeze!

Contras:

Sales could have explained things a little better in regards to some of the higher tiered options, not a deal breaker as they gave me a 30 day free trial through Lightspeed.

Comentarios: We have been with Kangaroo since the beginning of our business. They were offering SMS marketing before a lot of other companies which allowed us to advertise this way and grow our business when a lot of other small businesses didn't yet have the ability to take advantage of this feature. They are always listening to customer feedback and making improvements to user experience. We love the options for segmenting customers and helping create loyalty through the points system.

Friendly, knowledgeable, and quick customer service

Contras:

Not being able to purchase email credits on my own without having to chat with customer service though I am told this is a provider issue and not something within the control of Kangaroo so it is not an actual issue with Kangaroo as a company.

Seamless integration with Lightspeed, and Kickstarted our Rewards Club

Comentarios: Overall our experience with kangaroo has been very good. Their customer service is quick to respond and walk you though issues. It's been a good experience for me!

It seamlessly syncs back with Lightspeed Retail and eCom. There are loads of ways to create campaigns for email or SMS and then segment your customers in a campaign by dates, spend, tags, points, purchase history... lots of options!!! And the auto-campaign features are excellent- set up a campaign and make it automated. They have some out of the box, like birthday greetings. These can be attached to campaign that offer discounts or other promos so help to keep you Top of Mind. Kangaroo has helped us initiate and manage our Rewards Club and stay in touch with custoemrs.

Contras:

It's not always intuitive to use. Kangaroo did a UI revamp but to me the older portal which is still accessible is more intuitive. The reporting needs some work such that campaign result metrics can be more easily compared for performance. You'll have to purchase SMS credits and these expire at month end. So you have to plan your campaign spend via SMS.

Comentarios: We are really pleased with the experience and customer service we have, and continue o receive. From start-up and with any ongoing issues, the support has been quick and any issues resolved straight away. Special mention to [sensitive content hidden] for the knowledge and assistance in navigating and curating all elements of the app.
We can't imagine not having this offering for our customers and would highly recommend.

Comentarios: Within a month, we have been able to see ourselves move towards our goals which include customer retention, customer engagement, higher purchase frequency, and order values. Setting up reward programs can be a lengthy and stressful process, however, with Kangaroo, we were able to launch it within 15 days after the introductory meetings.

Firstly, I absolutely loved working with the Team. From the initial introductory meetings to the onboarding process, Kangaroo Team was on top of everything. Team was diligent, dedicated to providing us with all the functions necessary, and very efficient. Secondly the setup process was smooth and quick.
