Buena aplicación para VPNs

Comentarios: Es buena, lo utilizo para conectar a una VPN que sirve para gestionar servidores de modo seguro.

Puntos a favor:

Es fácil de iniciar y salir de una sesión en un servidor remoto previamente configurado.

Contras:

Cuando cambiaron el diseño de la aplicación de escritorio para Windows, hubo un tiempo que era un tanto confusa porque tenía el diseño viejo y el nuevo, ahora está todo ya integrado. Aún así, los menús de navegación siguen siendo confusos y tienen una organización que se nota que ha heredado diseños del pasado. Sería bueno que lo unificaran un poco.

Reseña OpenVPN

Comentarios: Aporta una gran ventaja al momento de navegar pero es difícil encontrar un buen navegador que funcione por mucho tiempo, siempre está en constante cambio, pero me funciono en su momento

Puntos a favor:

Me sirvió mucho en el momento en el que no contaba con alguna conexión, funcionaba de manera rápida una una vez conectada y podía navegar mucho

Contras:

Era muy difícil encontrar una conexión por largo tiempo, daba varias vueltas para conectar, al principio me pareció un poco trabado todo

OpenVPN Acess Server - Sutil y Estable

Comentarios: La estabilidad de OpenVPN Access Server es muy buena, su facilidad de uso y configuración ofrece una experiencia más que satisfactoria.

Puntos a favor:

OpenVPN Access Server tiene las diferentes opciones que se esperan en una vpn, ademas su configuración inicial es facil, el cifrado con certificado digital brinda la confianza que se busca para proteger las comunicaciones

Contras:

el cliente en la versión de window se congela y hay que reiniciar el servicio, el problema es que para esto hay que tener conocimiento intermedios y tener permisos de administrador, si esto no es asi no hay mas que reiniciar la maquina

Mi experiencia con Open VPN

Comentarios: Es una forma rápida y segura de poder conectarme a los equipos y servidores de mi organización desde mi hogar.

Puntos a favor:

Lo que más me gusta de Open VPN es lo fácil que es de utilizar. La utilizo en el celular y solo requiero de cargarle el archivo de configuración y una vez realizado esto, proceder a configurar mi usuario de AD y listo! Ya me encuentro conectado.

Contras:

Open VPN es un sofware que me hace sentir seguro. No tengo disgustos, ni quejas, cuando la utilizo.

Acerca de Servidor de acceso OpenVPN

Comentarios: Me ha servido de mucho como Analista de Seguridad TI, ya que tengo instalada en mi celular la herramienta, lo cual me permite establecer conexión con los sistemas de la institución, sin importar el lugar en el que me encuentre y la hora de la noche o madrugada.

Puntos a favor:

Lo más importante de este software es que me permite conectarme remotamente y de modo seguro a los sistemas, aplicaciones y servidores de la red de la organización.

Contras:

La aplicación satisface mis requerimientos de seguridad y conectividad. Me he sentido cómodo con su uso.

Comentarios: It's a bless to be working with a software that cares about your clients giving such incredible easy options to install and set up.

I think the feature I love about OVPN Access Server is the ease of use and the accessibility for new users, with no technical experience, to set up and use the software.

Contras:

I think the first set up to configure is a bit harsh, but that's fine because it ensures that you prepare a robust environment and can protect you from things you don't know about in your first steps.

Great option for having your own VPN

Since it requires your own server to deploy it mat be more expensive depending on the numbers of users

Good VPN Service

Comentarios: It gives me the freedom to change my IP address.

OpenVPN is available for Ipads, Android and PC and gives you the flexibility to change your IP: address.

Contras:

The first impression of the software is it is difficult to setup compared with other services, however after some time you get used to it.

Good self-hosted VPN

Puntos a favor:

OpenVPN Access Server is the easiest self-hosted VPN to install and administer.

Contras:

OpenVPN Access Server license price is too high

Probably my favourite enterprise VPN solition

Comentarios: I first used OpenVPN at a company in 2021, I enjoyed managing it so much and found it so easy to use yet fit for purpose and importantly, secure, that I've implemented it at all 4 companies I have worked at since then, including my current one now. From how easy it is to get started, how customisable it is, how reliable and robust it is, how fair priced it is to how good the support team are I keep going back to it for a reason.

Puntos a favor:

Other than offering a free plan, I love how quickly and user friendly it is to get started with the setup. From signing up to downloading and installing the appliance the entire thing can be done and up and running in basic form in around 20/30 minutes.

Contras:

Purely because I am struggling to think of anything else the Azure SAML SSO is a bit clunky. It requires the user to sign in via a web browser, which is usual, but then there's a lingering tab which is supposed to automatically close after 5 seconds but often doesn't, or there is a message within the OpenVPN app that says an error occurred and prompts the user to retry but it doesn't actually fail, it works. But these are minuscule issues that don't stop us from using the app or impact performance.

Contras:

Not much to dislike. However I wish this could be setup using bash scripts as well.

Comentarios: Overall, the performance is great and it's a good value for many.

It's reliable and easy to use, the option to work with desktop and web apps is great, you don't spend a lot of time connecting, and the performance overall is very stable using the VPN.

Contras:

I encountered some bugs where you can't access the VPN, and you need to restart in order to successfully connect.

Very good VPN

We use this VPN on a daily basis to protect our service departments information .. it works very well.

Contras:

It can be slow dependent on where you are accessing it from.. I have " mid-tier " internet at my home, so when utilizing a VPN that already " slows " your speeds, combining it with average internet is definitly a snail race.. But better safe than sorry!

Open to making the best VPN client out there

OpenVPN has a user-friendly interface, that is easy to navigate. In just a few minutes, anyone can get started with setting up a virtual private network even without much computer skills, because it is compatible with various operating systems such as Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android. Most importantly, it is open-source, meaning that it has the largest amount of documentation and tutorials online if you are ever facing troubles.

Contras:

The configuration can become tedious if you are not used to networking lingo and words, once it's set up though, you can set it and forget it. In my opinion, some default settings should be in place for newer users that aren't experienced. Such as disabling one's internet connection if the VPN fails to work (kill switch).

The only notifications are for necessary notifications, no annoying pop-ups, upsells, etc. Very minimal, clean interface. Straight to the point which is exactly what me and my team need. Excellent piece of software!

An Standard in VPNs World!

Comentarios: I suggest everyone to have it in their devices because sometimes VPN Providers' apps get some issues so you have go through a manual way and it's OpenVPN application itself. Unfortunately the developers don't support the OpenVPN application so much, despite that the OpenVPN protocol is an standard these days!

Puntos a favor:

Almost every VPN provider has OpenVPN protocol and most of them provide both TCP and UDP. It's fast, reliable and secure. The application is easy to use.

Contras:

Unfortunately it's been a long time that the OpenVPN application is the same as before, there hasn't been much changes in it. The options isn't much in it. The proxy only supports HTTP/S. There isn't Always-On-VPN option in android version of the application.

Very secure way to connect to enterprise network

Comentarios: We use OpenVPN to let our employees connect with their laptop to the network at the office.

Puntos a favor:

Open source, using state-of-the-art security protocols to connect to a remote network. Regular updates to stay up to date with the latest version of the different security blocks.

Contras:

Not always easy to troubleshoot connection problems because error messages sometimes don't give a clue of what configuration setting is wrong.

A (Difficult) reliable solution

Comentarios: I like it and I use it every day!

Puntos a favor:

1-There are too many solutions for one requirement. Cloud services, virtual appliance, and software packages. 2-very reliable and almost bug-free software. 3-community edition is free

Contras:

1-Community edition setup is really difficult and only a professional can install it.

Secure and easy to use

Comentarios: Overall, OpenVPN Access Server is easy to use, easy to set up. They have a nice app for all the platforms. It does the job well for our main use case which is to limit access to our APIs to only those who are connected to the VPN.

Puntos a favor:

Simple user interface. Easy to set up and connect OpenVPN Access Server to enable two-factor authentication with Google Authenticator. The client-side is also intuitive with apps for mobile devices (iOS and Android) and for the desktop (windows and mac).

Contras:

Can sometimes be hard to debug connection errors. On the client-side, if the connection error fails because of a password or expiration or wrong password, the error message does not reflect this. This could possibly be for security protection, but it can be a bit confusing to the end user.

Utilitarian VPN server

Puntos a favor:

Based off the open sourced free version it tends to have updates for security problems fixed very quickly when they occur. Once configured it works smoothly. The LDAP integration for the business version is pretty slick

Contras:

Configuration can be tricky depending on your certificate setups and your installation (specifically on windows, had some files in the wrong directory and in the wrong format initially). Updates are frequent which is good but aren't clandestine as I would expect them to be.

I love this app, its available for Windows PC and For android and iPhone users also can use this app

Contras:
