Comentarios: My overall experience with samsara is outstanding.

Puntos a favor:

Samsara allows me to accurately track and monitor my fleet of vehicles. Safety inspections allow tracking of vehicle service and maintenance. Also, the app allows drivers to login lunch breaks. This app has everything you need to monitor drivers and vehicles.

Contras:

What I like least about samsara is the price of the service.

Ease of product. The alerts are pretty accurate. Easy installation of hardware.

Contras:

Speed limit alerts are not consistence. I know Google maps is used for speed limits, so you are locked into an inadequate system.

I receive this warning emailed to me numerous times a day on 2 different trucks. Truck 205 and 197. The other day I counted 14 of these. They do not set a code or check engine light on the truck. Both Peterbilt and Cummins tell me this is not a real code. I have been trying to get you to resolve it but it has not happened yet. This is my support number [2071907] Samsara Support- Fault Code | 197Check Engine Lights: warning. We are going to be looking at other providers if this can not be resolved. Vehicle Faults: TxId: 71, SPN: 520423 - Manufacturer Assignable SPN, FMI: 5 (Current Below Normal), Count: 126

Comentarios: Its been good, like the integration, customer service is bad as is hard to talk to a live person. Also the alerts don't work well, some times they don't alert when they are suppose to be trigger, and the ELD log book sometimes disconnects and the driver has to refresh to get signal so the status gets updated. The bad thing about this is that while disconnected it does not shows correct hours for carrier, alerts don't get trigger, and when stopped by DOT driver has to refresh quick because the ELD will be stock on the last status, but DIT officers don't like drivers on the phone prior of Inspections. We got a violation once from a dot office because the status was not updated. But I will still keep the service bc it helps integration with brokers and helps on tracking regardless, but needs improvement

Comentarios: So far I have had a great time with working with Samsara. They helped me with a very large transition for my company and have always been able to provide support and equipment for all my needs. Their telematics system has done wonders for organizing a lot of data for our company, including helping keep us on the ball with our drivers.

The ease of use, good interface, helpful and quick support, consistent updates, a plethora of efficient equipment. Lots of features in how to keep track of company analytics. Speedy delivery.

Contras:

Some slow server speeds at certain times, a few oddities when using the system, some unintuitive or non-detailed information in certain reports. It can also get quite expensive, especially their shipping rates.

Google maps are not updated often enough. Receive speeding alerts when posted speed limit is higher than what Samsara shows.

Comentarios: It has been great. Compared to older telematics having cameras showing behaviors has made all the difference.

It is not what I don't like about Samsara as much as it is I need to understand more about transfer old gateways that used to be assigned in old trucks into new trucks

Support is terrible. Access to support is the worst. Then when/if you get through, the first person you talk to can only read the screen/error. No depth of knowledge. Why cant drivers see the picture from their own devices? When running a split clock, drivers cannot view upcoming rollover hours easily. I end up sending screen shots to the drivers so they can plan.

Comentarios: They are well above price of their competitors. Verizon's Connect is $5 per device per month cheaper and their customer service is unparalleled. They are quick to get your money and then ghost customers that have been loyal for over 3 years. They had so much going for them. But they have a 1.2 out of 5 rating on BBB and their google reviews are in the tank. They respond with a generic response but don't actually do anything.

The equipment works and we were able to track the vehicles. The ai feature works great.

Contras:

The customer service. [sensitive content hidden] will not answer your messages or phone calls. We were suppose to do a renewal and he is absent. There is a bottleneck for the renewal where you can only deal with him. His management team doesn't intervene. You are left at his disposal. 3 weeks in the process of renewal with 7 systems failing. You can't buy replacements because you have to be in contract.

Comentarios: This is the third tracking, dispatch, system i have worked with and by far the best. We absolutely love the video that is available on demand if we have an issue.

Ease of use, and mobile functionality. I can be anywhere and view current location and share location all from my phone.

Contras:

There can be the odd bug in the system where it throws out check code for trucks when there is actually nothing wrong.

Easy to plug and play both the ELD gateway and the camera. Customer service is great, always responds within the same business day. The customer portal is extremely user friendly with new features every month.

Contras:

Billing is very difficult - multiple bills, not just one bill. Reports for personal conveyance and missing DVIR are not part of the standard reports as we found in Omnitracs XRS.

Samsara has helped us improve with our fleet when it comes to monitoring speed and Driver behavior events. Reports help you vitalize the use of assets, drivers, Mills with geofences. Overall, Samsara is the #1 leading operation system for us.

Comentarios: From start to finish we have had complete support and control over what we want to see internally with dashboards and data.

Comentarios: Beside the good platform, my biggest concern is the customer service and support, i have been trying for several days to contact my representative without results, FRUSTRATION !!!

Customer support, If you need help you will die trying to get someone from support to help you instead os help they overrun you with emails from 6 or 7 representative asking same thing at same time and make you loose track of the conversation, also, after 30 min or 1 hour they rush to hang up on you to keep going, poor knowledge from the team explaining you contracts breakdowns

Comentarios: My overall experience with Samsara has been very favorable. As I mentioned before, they provide great service with their products. Very few times have we had issues, but when we do a ticket is created and solved promptly. I would definitely recommend this product to other carriers.

I like that we are able to share this live tracking, including what day & what time the link expires. It's also very simple to use, it gives me a breakdown as to fuel, miles per state, etc. There is lots of good features it has in our favor.

Contras:

I don't like the fact that the HOS change randomly. One minute my driver can have 1 hour left, and the next minute he has no HOS left.. It sometimes is hard to know exactly how many HOS driver actually has

Comentarios: Overall, in the capacity that I use it, I am happy with it and hope the company stays with Samsara. Again, I audit 20 to 30 logs and that is the extent of my use, but I am happy with what I have.

I find the ease of use good for monthly audits. I do not own the Samsara product I use. I have full login credentials as a contract safety rep. I only do monthly and spot audits but find the accuracy and ease good. Once I learned the system, audits can be done relatively quick and systematically. Other programs seem to require redundant actions to do the same thin.

Contras:

I do not see the driver's end of it, but it seems there be some features that would make it mandatory to fill some fields or alerts that the driver did not add a shipping doc or trailer #. Or most common issues.

A Step into the Future

Comentarios: The overall experience with Samsara has been GREAT! The sales and technical support teams have been very helpful throughout the roll out process. We seen so much benefit out of the AG series of units that we began installing the VG series of units on our service trucks and other company vehicles. Having the ability to see all of our assets on one dashboard has made serving our customers much easier. We are able to dispatch technicians to down/failing equipment faster. Also being able to monitor a rental unit while it is on a jobsite has saved both our company and our customers money by avoiding costly downtime. No more wasted trips to service a unit that is not due.

Puntos a favor:

Samsara has given us the ability to track the usage of our rental units much better than anything before. Knowing how often a unit is running helps not only capture lost revenue on rentals but also gives us the opportunity to stay more inline with manufacturer maintenance schedules to keep our equipment running in peak condition.

Contras:

Some of the features that Samsara offers do not translate well in the equipment world. They seem to be more geared towards logistics and freight hauling.

Comentarios: Great tool to be used for insurance purposes, like that it keeps driver awareness and shows potenetional drivers bad habits that could effect company prices to go up

The admin side of the system is very easy to use. I can find assets and check how they are doing easily.

Camera system is not part of all admin rights and only being able to be assigned rights to only one permission level for the entire company.

Be cautious signing a contract with Samsara

Comentarios: After 3 years I am attempting to cancel my account which they make nearly impossible.

Seeing where my fleet is works. All other features that they offer are bothersome to your drivers.

Contras:

If you are a growing company be cautious signing a contract with them. If any of your fleet is going to be idle for more than 1-2 weeks expect endless vehicle dead batteries because the samsara device has high parasitic battery draws. Customer service is an endless loop of passing you around until they close your ticket without a resolution. Your customer rep will change endlessly and you will be left unsupported. I made the mistake of choosing a self contained tracker for some of my equipment to avoid the battery drain issue but they have a battery that has to be replaced monthly if you want it to track more than a few times a week. This battery powered unit has a special expensive non-charging battery that you have to buy from Samsara. It will give you a 1/4 mile location of your equipment as well that is useless. I tried with phone calls, emails, website submittals to get this resolved and they can't and then make me pay out the remainder of the 3 year contract for poor performing units. The features for driver training are annoying and poorly performing. Telling the drivers throughout the day they are about to get in an accident etc. I disabled all of that immediately to avoid having my entire team quit because of the voice telling them to be coached.
