Comentarios: Es simple de usar, facil de implementar, no requiere de mucho software y sobre todo es gratis

Puntos a favor:

Me gusta que no pida muchos requisitos y sobre todo que sea simple y fácil de usar. En la carrera de sistemas o ingenieria de sistemas es una gran opción para servidores remotos o virtualizados.

Contras:

No me gusta que no se pueda transferir texto copiado de tu pc real a la remota, como tambien que no venga preinstalado los sistemas operativos que se usan normalmente.

Poderosa sencillez.

Comentarios: Es muy buena, si no tienes muchos conocimientos es increíble lo bien que funciona y lo fácil que se vuelve instalar un sistema operativo alterno via Máquina virtual.

Puntos a favor:

Es una máquina virtual muy sencilla de usar, no tiene muchas opciones de configuración pero es simple, sencilla, potente, y poderosa. Funciona muy bien en equipos de bajos recursos y puede instalar entornos de cualquier sistema operativo desde moviles hasta gráficos.

Contras:

No tiene muchas opciones configurables para eficientar las funcionalidades de los sistemas que emula.

Comentarios: Mi experiencia ha sido muy grata ya que he podido contar con una maquina virtual corriendo bajo entorno de Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, Windows Server 2012, Kali Linux, permitiéndome decidir como distribuir los recursos a cada una de las máquinas creadas y a su vez probar características de otros sistemas operativos sin necesidad de instalar el sistema en el equipo.

Puntos a favor:

La característica más impactante de dicho software es la facilidad con la que me permite crear ambientes de pruebas mediante la instalación de diversos sistemas operativos en máquinas virtuales. En mi caso me ha ayudado bastante, ya que me ha permitido realizar pruebas de penetraciones en Kali Linux para realizar mi tesis de maestría en Ciberseguridad.

Contras:

El producto es sencillo, entiendo que para su uso no se requiere de un nivel avanzado de informática. Basta con tener conocimientos técnicos de sistemas para proceder a instalar y configurar las virtuales se necesiten.

Potente virtualización de sistemas operativos

Comentarios: Me encanta la fluidez con la que funciona una máquina virtual sea con Windows o Linux y la compatibilidad que tiene con drivers y complementos, es muy sencillo además realizar instalaciones de sistemas operativos, no arroja errores de incompatibilidad o similares. He realizado instalaciones locales y remotas tanto de VirtualBox como de sistemas operativos en dicho software y siempre ha sido tremendamente sencillo, al final las instalaciones son exitosas.

Puntos a favor:

La interfaz es muy completa, bastante intuitiva y amigable al usuario, cada cierto tiempo además modernizan un poco más los íconos y funciones lo cual es perfecto.

Contras:

No hay nada que me disguste de VirtualBox, simplemente es un software fantástico y sus add-ons son bastante útiles también.

Gran programa para sistemas operativos virtuales

Te da la posibilidad de utilizar otros programas que funcionan solo en ciertos sistemas operativos dentro de tu pc.

Contras:

Consume muchos recursos del pc por lo que se necesita un pc con buen disco duro (ssd) y mucha ram.

Virtual Box

Comentarios: las características que debe mejorar son las actualización y la compatibilidad y pulir mas con los sistemas operativos no tan conocidos

lo mejor de Virtual Box es la función principal lo que podemos hacer, poder hacer probar nuestras aplicaciones en un espacio controlado

Contras:

lo que menos me gusto fue la interfaz de usuario, aunque sin sencilla par apodar usar.

Me ayuda a correr software que necesito

Comentarios: Hay software que no puede ser ejecutado en Windows, por lo que con VirtualBox es muy fácil tener un sistema Linux y sobre este, ejecutar los aplicativos que necesito.

Puntos a favor:

Tiene bastante fluidez al ejecutar otros sistemas operativos así mi ordenador no tenga componentes muy potentes.

Contras:

Las actualizaciones deben instalarse manuales en lugar de ser automáticas.

Testing and monitoring of new developments.

Comentarios: Vitualbox is an indispensable tool in our work, it allows us to develop software and test it on a user containable.It is very easy to create VMs and deploy different types of platforms on which to test and fine tune.

Puntos a favor:

It is a very well designed trial and error tool with encryption of files while sending them to another user and while storing them.It has an intuitive and easy to understand interface.It is cross-platform and allows you to safely test any new development in progress.

Contras:

There is nothing I dislike about Virtualbox.

VirtualBox is amazing

Comentarios: Overall I am very happy to use VirtualBox as it is fulfilling my requirements completely. Otherwise, I have to set up two laptops which will be expensive and complex to maintain.

Puntos a favor:

I am using a couple of operating systems thru VirtualBox on my system. I have Ubuntu as host and Mint, Windows 7 as guest OS.Switching between these 2 works smoothly. The Internet works very well. We can specify RAM and hard disk size in the settings.We can configure shared folder between guest and host systems which make life very easy.

Contras:

Installation is not that easy. Sometimes we have to do some tweaks based on the operating system we are using. But once the operating system is installed correctly things are very smooth.

VirtualBox Review

Comentarios: My personal experience with it could be both satisfactory and disappointing, honestly. On the personal side, I'd say almost flawless, but on the professional side, it's not what I'd rely on, but again, you get what you pay for!

Puntos a favor:

VirtualBox is open-source, easy and super fast to install and start, and it's free as well. It helps you test any OS in a few steps and switch between the operating systems you're running easily and swiftly. It's not exclusive to only one operating system.

Contras:

If you just want to test operating systems and not go in-depth, VM VirtualBox would be okay. However, if you'd like to use it more in-depth, you'd find a few issues. Some computers do not allow the installation of a Virtual Machine software without changing the BIOS, and this, of course, isn't something everyone can do. Some features aren't supported without installing add-ons. Also, sound drivers aren't available. It takes a while to come up and if your computer isn't good on the specs side, you might have a laggy and slow experience. Changing the size of disk storage could be an issue, but such issued were paid attention to with newer versions (5.2). If you use the virtual OS you're running as a main drive or you rely on it for professional purposes, this could be a total disaster as you'd face countless network issues that'd hold you back. However, again, to be fair, these issues would be faced only if you go deep, but if you just run virtual OS for fun, or for simple usage, you'd have nothing to worry about.

Advantages of VirtualBox to have heterogeneous platforms running on a single computer.

Best and most open source virtualization software

Comentarios: Using Virtualbox has brought alot ease to which you can install Multiple operating systems in on a single computer making life and computing more easier than before

Great for development, poor for production

Comentarios: Happy to use it for testing when using Packer and Vagrant.

Great, inexpensive virtualization for Mac OS

Comentarios: Great. Its performance for the money spent has been unrivaled. If you're a hobbyist or a tinkerer like me, you can't go wrong. If you're an enterprise sysop or sysadmin, you might consider using VirtualBox with some sort of hypervisor or orchestration tool that you pay for to get the most out of Virtualbox.

Puntos a favor:

It's cheap and open-source. I'm using it for local development and infosec ops. If you need a throw-away machine or you're a computer science student who's learning operating systems, it's a great tool to have installed. VDI's are pretty easy to re-install/re-hydrate too.

Contras:

It's not very intuitive. You need to learn about mounts and reads on drive types before you even have a clue how to install an operating system. VDI's tend to grow larger quickly the more your boot and run your machine.

Virtualization is awesome.

Comentarios: I use Virtual Box to provide multiple services while retaining a single server. For the classroom VirutalBox provides students with an environment where they can experiment while keeping the base operating system secure and locked. The ability to preserve aging software is critical to many companies I deal with. Inability to upgrade or lack of migration options often means that they need to keep these programs running while replacing broken or old hardware. Snapshots help me to keep perfect copies of system content and provide 100% restores.

Puntos a favor:

The ability to quick install and work inside a virtual operating system with having to build an entirely new system. No messing around with hard disks and bios. Its great when you want to test out Operating System alternatives or when testing current systems via hard disk imaging.

Contras:

No "out of the box" compatibility with Apple IOS operating system. This is obviously no fault of its creators as Apple has made use of its Operating System near impossible with its hardware but from a teaching perspective its a wasted opportunity especially for those learning helpdesk skills.

Virtual Hardware Saver

Comentarios: My biggest use case is to have a backup copy of a system that I am working to replace. Once the newer system has become well established and it is clear there is no need for information from the previous hardware I can clear out the old virtual machine. This doesn't support every use case when there was legacy hardware that was used for physical I/O as the host system would need the same I/O. Drivers don't carry over in those instances.

There is a wide array of virtual hardware supported in VirtualBox. This makes it very easy to have backup copies of archaic hardware that is no longer available but the software on them is still needed. The virtualization is fairly seamless for occasional use.

Contras:

There isn't much to not like about this software. The number of prompts when installing a new version and the 'extra' packages for USB support can be tiresome when it could just as well be automatic, but that is a minor issue.

The tool needed to virtualize and test software in secure environments

Comentarios: VirtualBox has allowed me to develop and test applications on different operating systems in a safe and controlled environment. As a geographer, I had to make expedited deliveries of maps and that platform was not yet stable, with Virtualbox, I could use traditional software to respond to requests from my bosses. Currently I'm still using Virtualbox but outside the business scope. At home my family enjoys playing video games from the time of our childhood and they can only be executed in windows 98. It could not be possible to have this hobby without VirtualBox.

Directly on the software, I could not say that there is something that I do not like, it is quite efficient. Comentarios: Overall, Virtualbox has done wonders for me. Allowing me to try to learn new operating systems without having to spend a lot of money to buy a machine that has that operating system.

Virtualbox is open-source software that hosts just about any operating system as a file: Windows, macOS, Linux, Ubuntu, Android, etc. A ton of operating systems to choose from. Of course, to do that, you have to download the actual operating system file that can be several gigabytes. But once done, it's easy to import the OS into Virtualbox and start using out of the box. As a Student Ambassador, one of the duties I have is to showcase my computer science projects in an open house event. I have showcased my projects using the Ubuntu operating system. I wasn't comfortable inserting Ubuntu into my main hard disk as a dual boot. If I need to switch the OS on the fly, having a dual boot setup doesn't let me do that, but VirtualBox does. I am asked to showcase Linux commands I learned in my class to prospective students and their families.

Contras:

I cannot think of a single dislike. VirtualBox is quite simply, easy to use. No learning curve, and it works out of the box. Of course, the only valid gripe I can give is that you need to have a powerful computer with a good amount of RAM and hard drive space.

VirtualBox - Free hypervisor for your computer

Comentarios: One of my personal favor feature of the application is the ability to create handy snapshots of different state of each VM you create. I use it mainly to test software and websites before launching them in production. with the snapshot feature, I can install all basic required software in the operating system of my choice and when I believe I have the perfect environment, I create a snapshot, in the event something goes wrong, I can easily revert to the snapshot create for this purpose. This allow me to have a clean slate to start from each time I want to run another test and have all I need.

This software is perfect for software reviewers, software testers, software developers and software designers, just to name a few. Contras:

The most recent version 6.0, has a cool and clean interface with minimal clutter. On the left-hand side of the application you can find global tools and all virtual machines and also virtual machine groups that you have created and available on you computer. You also have the handy import and create new VMs with related toolbar buttons for customizable options to suite your needs. Although the software is free, you can adjust just about any feature available, making it work in as you want and need.

Great For Testing New Software and Virtualisation

Comentarios: VirtualBox is great, it was the first piece of virtualisation software that I started using, mainly to improve my companies security. We now open all unknown files within a VirtualBox machine, keeping our main environment secure. It's a great piece of software.

My favourite feature about VirtualBox is that it's a completely separate environment from your main Desktop, so if you were to run an infected piece of software, your main machine would be protected.

Contras:

The software is pretty memory and processor hungry, it can often use a lot more resources than anticipated.

Highlights in the daily use of VirtualBox

Comentarios: After having correctly configured the entire environment, its use becomes relatively simple.
