Great product, works great, easy to navigate- almost too simple.

Comentarios: I met the [sensitive content hidden] of Buildbook at IBS and was very impressed with him and with the program he helped create. Overall very positive. Customer service is great and it works!

I love the ease of use for my employees and clients. Very positive feedback from clients, employees and my office manager. They can navigate the program much easier than CoCon/Buildbook. This is huge, I was getting negative feedback from clients about CoCon's complexity. Buildbook is very very simple to navigate and the app works great, very easy to see what we need.

Contras:

On the back end, I would love just more customization, options, and abilities to see more information. Seeing job profitability and syncing w/ Quickbooks to see actuals vs. quoted would be helpful. We don't have time or capacity to enter each line item cost so we are missing that information. It just almost seems too simple and not enough complexity on the back end. I want more options w/ quotes and w/ the Gannt chart creation. Having pictures and files transfer from "opportunity" to "projects" would be very very helpful! Please make this change! I'm concerned if Buildbook will be able to grow with my business. As I grow my business I want to be sure Buildbook grows with us and brings more functionality to the back end. Don't change the client facing side, just the backend!

Great Market Fit, But Need to Counter-Balance Cost-Plus Construction

Comentarios: I enjoy it as a tool for promoting a greater customer experience. I don't know how much I would say that it helps me run my construction business at this point.

The market distinctive for my business is this software and my design process. This program achieves my goal of promoting high-level visibility between me and the client while allowing me to have a project management system that is efficient and clean.

Contras:

As mentioned before, the product feels like it's been built so heavily around the customer experience that it's weak on the project execution features. More specifically the financial management and scheduling side of the project. In regards to the former, the financial management system is almost entirely communicative. But it doesn't actually serve me in any significant ways of managing my financials. The scheduling system is clunky. I don't know if this is a feature but I hope that you guys will allow for a microsoft project integration as I will have to explore other products to schedule construction as Buildbook's system takes way too long.

Comentarios: Good. The people seem great. I do believe they will work the issues and help to create product that is in tune with the current market needs.

Puntos a favor:

When I first looked into it I was happy to have a product that was easy for tracking leads and providing a project tool for our employees

Contras:

The inability to turn a won lead into a project. It’s redundant to have to take the notes from the lead and redo them once a project is won.

Razones para elegir BuildBook: MaintainX didn’t have any lead tracking capabilities however for project management features, such as the ability to creat work order, processes, and templates for procedures, it was better.

Razones para cambiar a BuildBook: I was initially impressed. I believed BuildBook to be a solution for job and lead tracking and it seemed to be easy to use. However, as we have moved forward the initial wow factor has slowly dwindled because of the redundancy.

Just what we needed!

Comentarios: The biggest problem we have had with our company is always not knowing what jobs are going on and what are we doing such days. BuildBook has helped utilize their features to make sure everyone is aware and on the same page!

I love the tasks functions and the start and end dates you can implement. This helps show the entire team what needs to be done and how much time we have to do the scope.

I would like to see more financial functions. Such as invoicing and AR reports

Great startup with lots of potential

The price and value for money is the best I've seen. The user experience is clean, simple and easy to navigate.

Contras:

There are a lot of features lacking and some feel like very obvious oversights such as not being able to see profit margin % from a project's financials.

Razones para elegir BuildBook: CoConstruct was very clunky to use and will not be receiving any more improvements since being bought by BuilderTrend. It did not make sense to keep paying so much money for something that was never going to improve.

Comentarios: I've researched Buildbook since they started out with a different company.With the company that I've been with for the last 2+ years we worked with 4-5 different types of software which was cumbersome and not efficient. not to mention having no access to a specific software if they had a bug. With Buildbook we have everything we need within reach in the office or on location.The chat feature to be able to talk with the team as well as with the clients and to document things is a nice huge feature.

Ease of use, visibility and accessibility for non-tech workers.Software encompasses almost everything needed for our daily operations, it eliminated using 4-5 different types of software.

We wish there were more (enhanced) CRM type of features

Helped us level up our game!

Comentarios: Overall, this has been an amazing new integration for our business and has helped us level up our offering. We feel that clients have really valued having a platform that helps them feel closely connected to their renovation/build project at every step of the way whether they are living in their home or not. Clients have appreciated our regular communication using the tool as it keeps info all in one place. Our team feels more connected on projects and we are finding a new groove and it feels great!

Puntos a favor:

The platform is very user friendly and our clients found it easy to navigate. We like the Chat features, File and Document sharing capabilities, Scheduling tool and the Budget and Selections sections to help us keep our process in check and moving towards project milestones. It's been a game changer for us as a whole!

Contras:

We would love to see more reporting features, exporting estimates and selections into a nice PDF for clients to review. Some of our clients are hands on and still like paper copies or the ability to receive paper copies that are tangible. Would also love to see a more robust way to obtain client approvals on selections. Larger images for attachments and a few quirks with the mobile app can be flushed out too.

Great tool to track project progress!

Comentarios: Great product for communication between owner, manager, employees, clients, and subcontractors!

We use this tool primarily to track job progress internally as well as with clientele. We use this software daily, whether it is creating task lists to be completed or post pictures and captions, and we love that we are able to post these progress updates to enhance internal scheduling as well as keep the client updated throughout the process. That being said, the communication capability with all parties is what we love most!

Contras:

The to-do lists and tasks seem difficult to create, and I wasn’t aware of several other features prior to taking this questionnaire. Perhaps a tutorial or help guide would be useful in lieu of the chat option. Also, previously I had issues uploading multiple pictures and getting posts to create/post, but that seems to have been improved in the most recent update.

Complete Construction Management Software

Comentarios: We are able to communicate with our clients who are offsite much more clearly as a team. It's really improved our overall client-contractor relationship.

I love how easy it is to integrate our current utilization of dropbox with Buildbook. As a team, we love being able to track our jobs together, and share our daily progress with each other. The best part of Buildbook though is their incredibly helpful their customer service. They walk through any and every issue and address it promptly and they are always there to help!

Contras:

The only challenging component we have found with this software is utilizing older phones. However, this is not unique to only this software, as it is a challenge for every developer.

It's like having a mobile electronic filing cabinet for each project. Everything I need is right on my cellphone in the app, from punch lists to the homeowner's paint color choices. It makes things so much more organized and thorough. My favorite feature is that the app allows me to tag and search through multiple posts to find what I am looking for. Before, I had to run searches through my thousands of emails and weed out which ones were for this job/client. I have just started using the new portfolio feature, which has allowed me to organized daily photos into "collections" then I can choose the best ones to transfer over to my portfolio. So far, I am a fan and would highly recommend giving this software a try.

Contras:

It's difficult to get others in the habit of using it. Even subcontractors.

Great software, helped our systems so much!

Comentarios: We've loved having something to keep us organized, keep our subcontractors in the loop, and keep our clients happy. They know the schedule, what is expected of them, and when they need to have decisions done. That has helped me be able to spend my time working on other things instead of putting out fires all day!

Pros: -All in one place -Keeps communication confusion at a minimum because it keeps things streamlined -Provides a great view of the entire build process -Love the ease of keeping track of things...even helps me as the builder see things as the big picture and help break it down for customers. -I love the notifications that have been added

Contras:

It's pretty user friendly but I needed to work through all the different aspects of it to see how we could utilize it best. The chat feature is great, but sometimes doesn't work. The scrolling doesn't work the best on the app version and sometimes the selections section is cery slow to add and save information. Fixes seem to make things better and better though!

Life Saver for our Small Construction Company

Comentarios: We’ve loved everything from our experience talking with the guys about what it could do, before we even bought it, to implementing it with our clients, getting certain subs on board with it, and knowing we’ve got a great support team behind the product as well. It’s absolutely been a life saver on this latest remodel, and I’m not sure how we did the previous ones without it?!

This makes communicating with our clients SO MUCH EASIER! We love love that everything is in one place, documented, with easy access to conversations, pictures, videos, any needed info we put in, etc. And being able to do this for each project without losing important conversations or endlessly reorganizing our inboxes is wonderful.

Contras:

As always, when you get into a product early you may find a few small glitches or ways the app can work more optimally, but the customer service has been wonderful and we know those little things like a photo/video not uploading immediately are getting worked out Quickly.

My BuildBook use and decision to purchase a BuildBook subscription

Comentarios: Me personally I have not yet as I'm in my construction twilight years, hanging on hanging out, holding on. Yet I can see how valuable BuildBook is and I wish to support BuildBook and maybe get to more fully utilize soon. I also have several other separate business and personal business document tools I'm learning at the same time. Spread thin.

I wish I had BuildBook years ago, it is ideal. Currently I do struggle with using it as I work mostly day to day for others, me myself and I. As such, I do not get too involved wit schedule and budget or estimate. Yes I would like to very much, and need to, but again at this time I'm not. As such I have limited practice or daily use. But I support BuildBook for what they are accomplishing.

Contras:

For me hard to navigate, photo uploads don't happen, and it is hard to find how and where to striking off finish tasks or items. Videos of new updates are impossible to follow for any instructions. Yes one can now do this, but specifically how?

Comentarios: I’m in the beginning stage and working through how to best use it before I launch to clients. So far I’m happy with how clear things are and no learning curve required. I appreciate the pricing structure as well.

Budgeting and scheduling platforms and their short learning curve and ease of use.

Contras:

Inability to customize as a small company without paying unnecessary extra month upgrade cost. It lacks time tracking software to make this a complete package. I still require other apps to track employee time and reports for clients.

Perfect for growing Contractors!

Comentarios: We’ve loved Buildbook, the simplicity of the app as well as the added features that just keep making it an easy to use value-add for our company.

Puntos a favor:

Build back allows us to have a one place to keep all of our client communications, selections, pictures, and more! No more digging through texts and emails, or relying on what anyone “thinks was said”, or having to repeat the conversation. It’s all in the app, organized by project.

Contras:

Can’t think of anything offhand- they’ve continued to upgrade!
