Our last platform was DonorView, and DonorPerfect has some great features, but then much of the products are cobbled together. This is not helpful. Whenever a report is needed, we have to chat with support to get the extremely long set of instructions to generate the report. Additional problems that we found were the different ways to set up receiving funds, either directly through DonorPerfect, or through GiveCloud. Functionality changes for the choice of one or the other. Finally, the icon labels for a donor are not helpful. Take for instance a donor who is a monthly giver, but gives by check. The monthly donor icon does not show up and we can't manually tell the platform to do so. > > Overall, DonorPerfect is a pretty good platform. Unfortunately, after using this platform for a year, we feel it was probably better for our organization to stick with DonorView. It is "user-friendly" and offers a lot support. All of the compliments towards DonorPerfect (DP) are true. You can set up online donation forms to receive donations and DP has a native processing gateway to process that. > > **Puntos en contra**: You can find a lot of out-of-the-box-plug-and-play database apps on the market today such as Notion, Airtable, etc. If you have any experience using those or learning about databases, nothing about DP makes sense. I just want to see "what is the latest donation?" "show me the last 5 donations" and I cannot get that answer immediately. It takes at least 8 clicks (Reports \> Report Center \> choose report \> four clicks to set period \> hit Run Report) and a little time drinking coffee before you can see the answer. DP is user-friendly in that, it has its own language and logic about where any information or feature is. A new user who's less tech literate will have to learn this, and yes there ARE resources, webinars, on-demand webinars, help articles, support chats, all available for you to fully master DonorPerfect. I am not sure how much of what you learn could be applied outside of DP. An impatient user familiar with databases will throw up their hands immediately just like I did. > > I work with nonprofit industry veterans (maybe combined experience of 50+ years) and none of them are DP experts. What I mean is that, none of their "let's do this" is easily accomplished on the DP platform. I am heavily involved in our end-of-year donations process and realizing that we're NOT using DP to track our outreach and donations received; but using DP as a redundant CRM that has to be updated manually. My secret 3-year plan is to move us out of DonorPerfect, because again, a free plan with Airtable could very easily replace our current procedure with DP. ----- ### "More Than a CRM. And \[sensitive content hidden\] ’s training support was exceptional. She brought both expertise and warmth and helped our team feel confident instead of overwhelmed. I also personally appreciated that the webinars are CFRE credited\!\! That human element matters.
